Visa Options & Categories
Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent): Points-based PR. No sponsorship required. MLTSSL occupation. Points 65-95 (cutoff 85+ most occupations). EOI SkillSelect. Monthly invitation rounds. Processing 6-12 months.
Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated): State-nominated PR. MLTSSL or STSOL. 5-15 bonus points. Lower cutoff (65-80). 2-year commitment to nominating state. Processing 6-12 months.
Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional): Provisional for regional Australia. 15 bonus points. MLTSSL, STSOL, or ROL. Valid 5 years. PR (191) after 3 years income AUD 53,900/year.
Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination): Direct entry PR. MLTSSL occupation. 3-year full-time experience. Skills assessment. No points test. Processing 6-9 months.
Global Talent (858): Fast-track PR. 10 target sectors (FinTech, HealthTech, Energy, MedTech). Endorsement required. No age restriction. Processing 2-4 weeks.
TSS to PR (482 to 186): TSS holders transition after 3 years same employer. Medium-term only (MLTSSL). Age under 45. Processing 6-9 months.
Partner PR (820/801): De facto partners of citizens/PR. Prove genuine relationship 12+ months. 2-stage: temp then permanent. Processing 15-24 months.
Business 188/888: Provisional (188) then PR (888) after maintaining 3+ years. Innovation (AUD 1.25M assets) or Significant Investor (AUD 5M complying).
